Monthly Tips — Temperate
Plan your grow. Order seeds. Research strains suited to your climate.
Start seeds indoors under lights if you want early plants. Prepare soil amendments.
Germinate seeds indoors. Start seedlings under grow lights 16-18h/day.
Move seedlings outdoors when overnight temps stay above 50°F (10°C). Harden off gradually.
Full vegetative growth. Plants grow rapidly. Top or train as needed. Water and feed regularly.
Peak veg growth. Longest days of the year. Apply LST or SCROG. Watch for pests.
Days shorten after solstice. Late July: early flower signs. Continue feeding veg nutes until pre-flowers show.
Full flower. Switch to bloom nutrients. Increase P and K. Watch for powdery mildew in humidity.
Late flower. Trichomes developing. Check with jeweler's loupe. Begin flush 2 weeks before harvest.
HARVEST TIME. Check trichomes daily. Harvest indica first (faster), sativa last. Hang dry 10-14 days.
Cure your harvest in jars. Clean and sanitize grow area. Store seeds for next year.
Study your grow results. Research new strains and techniques for next season.
